Coffee, budgets, and dog bows.

Dress: F21// Cardigan: Aerie// Tights: Romwe// Wedges: Target

So I did it. I ordered a Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks. I have been avoiding it, because as much as I love pumpkin things (beer, pie, etc, oh my) I couldn't imagine liking a latte. Well, I did. I liked it a lot and now I'm scared that I might have to budget in Pumpkin Spice Lattes.

Speaking of budgets, I've started one. Let me tell you three truths about this budget: I hate it, I hate it, I hate the damn thing so much. If it were made of paper i'd burn it. And of course on the day I start my budget, I run out of coffee and end up at Target on my lunch break contemplating buying every single thing. Fortunately, I kept my cool and browsed (bad, not recommending that as a rookie budget-er), walked away from everything, but my coffee (on sale- only good thing that comes of ~Thanksgiving shopping) and I might or might not have bought a pack of bows for Milly (my dog), BUT THEY WERE ONLY A DOLLAR. Ok, I shun myself for that one. I shouldn't have. I know.

So. This blog is a budget blog you guys. Here, here! Hope you guys stick around for the adventures of my budgeting. I mean, I haven't eaten out all week (ok, it's only Wednesday, but still).

Oh, and the news I keep hinting at has to do with my budgeting. There's another hint! Have a Merry Thanksgiving. I've lost some weight lately (I've actually been working stupid hard at the gym), so the plan for tomorrow: gain at least 5 pounds in turkey and potato weight, sleep, and oh, cuddle with my (as of late) extremely affectionate puppy!

Milly and the Robe

 Good morning.
This is a series of photos that helps you understand my interactions with my dog/my mornings. Because I know you're curious! duh you think about me always.

You're welcome.

Ode to coffee

Okay, not really an ~Ode~ because let us get real, I cannot for the life of me write a poem, song, or even rhyme a single thing with the word coffee. It makes me wonder if there's a song about coffee, because I commend them on rhyming the un-rhymable. But this is a tribute (yes, better word, but doesn't have the ring "Ode" does).

Oh, another thing that gets me pumped on random Thursdays...?
This song on my iTunes on the way to work. Hope it's stuck in your head all day
and your coworkers hate you for humming it and passing along the craze.

I am a huge fan of Community Coffee. I was once an avid Starbucks drinker, that got expensive and IMO Starbucks kind of has a burnt taste. Now, I am not one to say I never drink it anymore (I mean sometimes you just gotta drink what's available), but I'll take my brew any day, any day, anyyy day (there's the coffee kicking in).

There was a time I didn't drink coffee. I actually didn't buy my first coffee pot until last year. Best. Purchase. Ever. I remember going into coffee shoppes in Nashville (you know the really cool, hip ones that make you feel like less a person if you order anything else?!) and feeling so sad I didn't enjoy coffee, it smelled so good. There were times it'd be so cold outside that I would drink a cup, but it was merely to warm my bones. Anyhow, what matters is my appreciation for coffee now. I'm warm, I'm awake, and I'm alert (and sometimes off the wall).

Beware: Adult Post

Shirt: Forever21// Jeans: Forever21// Wedge Booties: Old Navy (last year)

It's nice to be back at work after a long weekend. It's nice to get back into normalcy once you've had a fabulous 25th birthday weekend. I spent most the weekend eating and catching up on blog reading and finding some new and inspiring blogs to read. It was a good weekend, though Monday it seemed that every coffee shoppe was closed! FOR GOODNESS SAKE. I will deal with Starbucks, but the local coffee shoppe Angels Island is where it's at. Luckily I make a mean cup of Community Coffee: Hotel Blend, so I survived.

It's no where near attractive and it's totally inconvenient for me since it's a 20 minute drive, but their Blond Americano is near perfect. BUT, I didn't get any Angels Island coffee this weekend, womp womp.
I DID get a chance to indulge in one of Mans Greatest Creations: Bread Pudding (hold the raisins, thanks).
All in all, food, cuddles, puppies, food, celebrations with friends, and internet. Good 3 day weekend.
I'll take it.
