Stomach Flips and Permanent Trips.

Dress: F21

Haven't done this in a while and I furrealtho need a haircut.

I can't eat, sleep (this is the oddest of all!), and I'm probably coming off as an asshole to many people because I can't get out of my own head long enough to comfort anyone saddened by my departure. I'm so excited about the move to Denver, but I'm just as nervous. I've never lived away from this city, the south, or my family. I'm also the biggest worrier I know. I worry about everything that hasn't happened. What if. What if. What if. Along with those what if comes my new job. It's a smaller college so the student load won't be as bad, but "what if" I really don't know as much about Higher Ed as I thought I did. What if I suck at being an actual advisor?! I have to get out of my head and know (and I do know) that is the best opportunity for me at this point in my life. This doesn't happen. People don't get a job in their field, doing what they like, right after college all the time, right? I need to embrace this fully... but it's okay to be really scared too, right?

My relationships. On top of the stress of knowing I'm skipping the south, I've had to make the decision to miss a lot of people. My friends and family... what a thing to miss. I will make friends, I have friends there.. so that's good!

My Nashville. I love my city, but I'm going to miss my city. The city that is good for just a cup of coffee, or a late night corndog, but it's also the place I'll always remember my friends. We spent so many weekends in Nashville, together, dancing, singing (ok that's just me), and discovering. I claim Nashville as my first city love, because... it was. I never loved a city like I love Nashville.

My home. My ...home has been shaken before, my parents got a divorce about a year and a half ago. Since that moment I realized my home doesn't feel like it did before, it's broken. I love my parents, but right now I need distance. I need space and my own place to really find out what my own life will be. I'm still scared of this particular change, i'm nervous about the moment I get homesick and all my friends are asleep. But deep, deep down in this really confused heart of mine... I know missing them will only help. It will only heal my relationship with them.

And then there's the sudden realization that as much as all of this matters, in the end I'm doing this for me. Which makes all the butterflies (pretty sure they are hummingbirds though), that are taking up all the space in my stomach, settle down, my lips curl up, and I realize this is exciting.

Last day of October...means:

Did you guys know that today is actually Halloween? Right? I was pretty much convinced it was Saturday.
Anyways, the little kiddies come trick or treat at the Uni that I work for so I decided to mix my awesome dress that I posted about last week with a little Halloween. It was like a half-ass costume, yet... not. Perfect.
Even sported the whiskers, as all true Leopards should.

Anyhow... Happy (October 31st) Halloween!

Life and times at UAH.

Green hair for video we made for Scholarships.
Knights of the Financial Aid office. Defend thy honor!
Blowing up beach balls for a homecoming project at the Uni.
I kind of love my job. That's one thing I've never been able to say about previous jobs. And now this is where I get to come everyday and just be happy about where I work and the people I work with as well as build my CAREER, that's really exciting! Seriously... such an amazing feeling.

Can't lie though, I wish I were in the mountains, at a ski resort, drinking coffee, and watching it snow right about now.

Working on not matching.. I mean, spreadsheets

Cardigan: LOFT// Striped shirt: F21// Skinny pants: H&M// Oxfords: Old Navy

These pants from H&M last year have been a petite girls DREAM.

Also this cardigan makes an appearance more than... not? It's petite, it's great, and it's thin.

Über Chic for Cheap posted this dress; excuse me, how perfect is this?!

Ode to coffee

Okay, not really an ~Ode~ because let us get real, I cannot for the life of me write a poem, song, or even rhyme a single thing with the word coffee. It makes me wonder if there's a song about coffee, because I commend them on rhyming the un-rhymable. But this is a tribute (yes, better word, but doesn't have the ring "Ode" does).

Oh, another thing that gets me pumped on random Thursdays...?
This song on my iTunes on the way to work. Hope it's stuck in your head all day
and your coworkers hate you for humming it and passing along the craze.

I am a huge fan of Community Coffee. I was once an avid Starbucks drinker, that got expensive and IMO Starbucks kind of has a burnt taste. Now, I am not one to say I never drink it anymore (I mean sometimes you just gotta drink what's available), but I'll take my brew any day, any day, anyyy day (there's the coffee kicking in).

There was a time I didn't drink coffee. I actually didn't buy my first coffee pot until last year. Best. Purchase. Ever. I remember going into coffee shoppes in Nashville (you know the really cool, hip ones that make you feel like less a person if you order anything else?!) and feeling so sad I didn't enjoy coffee, it smelled so good. There were times it'd be so cold outside that I would drink a cup, but it was merely to warm my bones. Anyhow, what matters is my appreciation for coffee now. I'm warm, I'm awake, and I'm alert (and sometimes off the wall).

 Blouse: LOFT// Pants: H&M (similar)// Heels: Urban

Today is one of those "Focus on the shoes, focus on the shoes" days.

Bright pink skirts should always be worn... all the time

Shirt: Anthropologie// Skirt: LOFT (same shape and way bossier print ifyouaskme)// (Brown)Wedges: Target

Be aware this skirt comes in Petites (dance, dance, dance).

I was in hurry and I can't actually remember picking up this top. I haven't touched it in over 2 years. It's such a good top and I've just avoided it for over 2 years?! Have you ever done this? I kind of hate crew neck shirts so I put this shirt in auto "not wearing you" pile, but I keep it around because it's an easy piece (and I paid good money for this top).

I learned my lesson, I will stop judging my clothes on their hanger. I will also stop avoiding clothes for 2 years, this I vow to you.

BTW Living Social is doing a Starbucks deal, you crazy Starbuckians.
